The Health, Safety, Environment & Security Department of FutureFuel Chemical Company in Batesville, Arkansas, has an opening for a Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator. The Process Safety Management (PSM) Coordinator works with Health, Safety, Process Development, and Process Management departments to provide process safety guidance and oversite. The PSM Coordinator also ensures Compliance with applicable OSHA and EPA regulations. Some individual responsibilities may include:
- Lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies for new and existing chemical processes which will include learning and becoming the expert on FutureFuel’s current PHA software
- Ensure full compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations.
- Ensure full compliance with Risk Management Program (RMP) regulations.
- Document and steward safety improvement opportunities.

The preferred candidate should have a four-year technical degree, preferably Safety Science, Chemistry, or Engineering. Experience with batch and continuous production of complex organic specialty chemicals is a plus.

About The Position
As a Development Scientist and Group Leader, you will design and oversee lab experiments to support the development of targeted proprietary and specialty chemicals. The ideal candidate is a creative PhD chemist with experience in conceiving and demonstrating routes of synthesis and transitioning organic chemical procedures from lab scale to full production. A qualified individual will develop lab procedures based on information found in the public domain literature and create new synthetic routes for targeted chemicals. The documentation of work in the form of internal technical reports and patents, as necessary, will be a critical part of the job. No two days are ever exactly the same, and the variety of chemistry is unmatched.

About the Position
The QCT Technologist will ensure that all Technology procedures, methods, training, documentation, and records comply with GMP requirements as specified in FFCC procedures, customer quality agreements and applicable FDA regulations. The QCT Technologist will serve as the primary point of contact for all Technology related GMP issues. As the point of contact for all Technology related GMP issues, the QCT Technologist will routinely interface with Business Development, Customers, Development, Analytical, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance personnel to ensure the effectiveness and integrity of the GMP Quality System. The QCT Technologist will serve as the Technology representative for all internal and third-party audits.
Technology GMP documentation includes route of synthesis qualification records, development and analytical procedures, analytical methods, instrumentation and method qualification records, batch records, training records and any other documents related to compounds produced per GMP requirements.
The QCT Technologist will investigate and document all deviations from GMP procedures, customer quality agreements, and FDA regulatory requirements. The identification, documentation, reporting and tracking of all root causes and corrective actions are essential components of the investigation.
The QCT Technologist will report to the Chief Technology Officer.

About the Position
The Project Engineering Group includes Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Technologists who work together to contributes to the success of the company by providing engineering support to Manufacturing, Utilities, and Maintenance. The Electrical Engineer will work with others in the plant to:
- Provide technical assistance, process improvement, and manufacturing support for chemical production.

FutureFuel Chemical Company is looking for a new member for our electrical and control maintenance team. Control System Maintenance (CSM) Mechanics work under the supervision of a team manager and performs a wide variety of skilled maintenance work related to the installation and repair of plant instrumentation and electrical equipment. CSMs works with peers to manage the day-to-day needs of the clients in the assigned area of responsibility. Using electrical single line drawings, schematic diagrams, the National Electric Code, Process Industry Practices, and Standard Engineering Practices associated with Control Systems Maintenance (CSM) work and equipment, CSMs performs a wide variety of electrical, electronic, and instrumentation work as well as performing limited mechanical tasks. Because most documentation for electrical equipment and instrumentation, work orders, process change orders, and cost systems is maintained electronically, this position requires the use of SAP system and internal computer databases to enter and retrieve data daily. CSMs work in elevated locations, confined spaces, and extremes in ambient temperatures and must wear FR Clothing. This is a safety sensitive position. CSMs must satisfactorily pass a respirator fit test and be capable of working near rotating and moving machinery.
CSMs agree to enter a DOL licensed apprenticeship program managed by FutureFuel with the majority of study being conducted on their own (non-paid) time. Progress reviews documenting job growth, performance, and attendance will be conducted at 16-week intervals. After approximately 18 months, CSMs are required to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule 3-4 months a year.
Applicants must have a minimum of a 2-year associate degree in industrial electrical maintenance or electronic technology or be a graduate of a registered electrical/electronic apprenticeship program or have four years of directly applicable industrial or military electrical/electronic experience. FutureFuel Chemical Company is seeking a Development Lab Bench Chemist for our Chemical Technology Department. The Development Lab Bench Chemist works under the direction of an Advanced Scientist, typically a PhD Chemist. The Development Lab Bench Chemist assists in the development of new organic chemical synthesis manufacturing processes and the improvement of existing manufacturing processes. The Development Lab Bench Chemist would also support the resolution of manufacturing issues and product quality issues and provide technical assistance to customers.
They aid in planning and conducting laboratory projects and investigations of a research or development nature. They assemble laboratory equipment, perform experiments, observe and record details of experimental work, and document the results in memos, reports, and other technical methods. They perform minor maintenance on laboratory equipment and design and order the necessary supplies and parts to conduct chemical synthesis experiments. They interface with outside customers and internal peers. They use a variety of highly technical laboratory equipment to perform research and development type experiments (i.e., automated reactor systems and data acquisition.) FutureFuel Chemical Company is looking for part-time and full-time truck drivers for the Legacy Regional Transport team. Candidates must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a minimum of an “N” endorsement, preferably an “X” endorsement. High school diploma or GED, excellent driving record, and flawless background and drug test are also required. This position will work at the FutureFuel site in Batesville, Arkansas.
The Legacy Regional Transport trucking team members may work in a variety of roles. The trucking team handles deliveries of FutureFuel biodiesel throughout the state and into Tennessee and other surrounding states. Up to two trips a day to Memphis or Little Rock are customary or daily support of FutureFuel fuel tanks in Arkansas. Most positions allow for day-only assignments allowing you to be home each night. Pay is by the load, mile, or hourly depending on the task. There are a few overnight runs to Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma that happen occasionally.
Another role is traveling to Illinois each day to pick up coal. The day begins early with pre-load inspections and heading out from the Batesville site. The coal mine is outside Cutler, Illinois. It is a one-day run taking about 10 – 10 ½ hours, start to finish.
