HSES EMT-Paramedic Patroller

About The Position
FutureFuel Chemical Company is looking for a full-time Health Safety Environment & Security (HSES) Shift Patroller/Paramedic. This is a Safety Sensitive position. HSES Patroller’s work a twelve-hour rotating shift schedule. The patroller serves as backup to other Safety Specialist employees and responds as requested to consider approval of permits associated with the Safe Work Process.
All employees assigned to the Patroller classification (both regular and relief assignments) will be involved in developing and delivering emergency response training programs and leading the Emergency Response Team on their shift. Employees assigned to these classifications must also maintain appropriate current certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Responds to all emergency calls and serves as plant medical representative in emergency situations including (medical, fire, HAZMAT, confined space and high angle rescue).
- Patrol of plant property, checking for fire and safety hazards, auditing for security irregularities, and staffing the security gate.
- When water flow, smoke detection, or an intrusion alarm is indicated by the Fire Alarm system, check the indicated area and take appropriate action.
- Inspects fire extinguishers located throughout the plant and replaces them when necessary.
- Maintains communications with the Operations Crew Managers and/or the Control Room while performing patrol duties and maintains a log of work activities.
- Perform other duties and special projects relating to plant security, fire prevention, and safety activities as directed by supervision.

Required Qualifications
- Applicants must have a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic certification or must be willing to obtain certification within two years of selection. Once certified, certification must be kept current by meeting or exceeding recertification requirements established by the registry boards.
- This position requires the ability to deal courteously and tactfully with people in a wide range of situations.
