About The Position
Key Responsibilities
- Works with internal customers to ensure that desirable priorities on analytical work are observed.
- Reviews abnormal data and decides what plan of action to take on these results.
- Identifies abnormal analytical results and takes appropriate corrective action. Reports unusual results or samples to the attention of supervision and to the appropriate Technical person assigned to the process.
- Sets priorities and plans the work to be done during the shift.
- Conveys shift information to the appropriate personnel.
- Uses a variety of analytical instruments in performing analyses. Requires a wide variety of computer-based systems. Laboratory instruments are computer or microprocessor controlled.
- Makes standardized mathematical calculations, records the data in SAP recognizes abnormal data using identified control strategies, and reports unusual occurrences or variations.
- Recognizes abnormal data based on predetermined statistical limits and the use of control strategies.
- Assists in maintaining equipment within the laboratory including, but not limited to, minor mechanical and electrical repairs. Cleaning and replacement of expendable components is performed as required.
- Maintains accurate and neat records in the performance of duties utilizing FFCC systems (i.e., SAP) and other applicable software packages as appropriate.
- Assists in the training of Analytical Lab Operator Trainees.
- May assist Instrument Analysts/ Development Laboratory Technicians/Chemists in more non routine areas of chemical laboratory work concerning product quality control and process improvement.
- Performs miscellaneous duties such as cleaning equipment, preparing standard solutions, and changing cylinders of compressed gases, as required.
- Performs the normal duties of the Analytical Lab Operator which include, but are not limited to, using a variety of analytical instruments to perform routine analytical analyses, making standardized mathematical calculations, recording data in SAP, recognizing and reporting abnormal data, and assisting in maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Is proactive in continual learning through quality management activities, training, and meetings.
- Promotes safety on the team and supports a high housekeeping standard.
- Performs special assignments as requested (i.e., accepts after hours calls assisting in solving equipment problems).
- Supports FFCC policies and participates on teams or special committees, as requested.
- Participates on Process teams or special committees.
- Communicates effectively in order to perform essential functions of the job.
Required Qualifications
- Successfully score a Silver Level on the Arkansas Career Readiness Workkeys exams in Workplace Documents, Applied Math and Graphic Literacy.
- Be able to perform all the essential elements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations;
- Have strong computer skills,
- Be strong in team work skills,
- Be willing to work varied shift schedules based on business needs,
- Have successfully completed two advanced high school and/or college math courses (i.e., Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, etc.) and high school and /or college chemistry along with another science course (i.e, biology, physical science, physics, etc,,
- Have fully satisfactory progress on the Analyst Trainee job classification.
