About The Position
Key Responsibilities
- Obtains samples at specified steps in the procedure and performs routine, simple analyses such as pH tests and crystallization point tests.
- Charges chemicals into reactors, dryers, and weigh tanks and unloads chemicals from nutsches, auto filter dryers, centrifuges, dryers and reactors.
- Packages in drums, bulk bags, or totes finished product and correctly weighs, labels and palletizes material.
- Performs activities to efficiently operate tank farm equipment.
- Identifies conditions that might result in contamination or loss of product and takes the necessary corrective action and performs routine inspections (i.e., safety, housekeeping, operational, regulatory) as required in assigned area.
- Maintains operating equipment in good working condition and takes action to ensure needed maintenance and repairs are identified.
- Assists maintenance personnel as needed and once the training for the "common Operator Maintenance task list" and "area specific list" has been completed may perform Operator Maintenance tasks.
- Assists technical personnel by carefully following procedures and instructions and by pointing out any observations that might be pertinent to the solution of chemical or equipment problems.
- Follows guidelines and procedures outlined in COPs (Chemical Operating Procedures), EOPs (Equipment Operating Procedures, QOPs (Quality Operating Procedures) and the Safe Practices Manual and Emergency Procedures.
- Must satisfactorily complete the Operator Training Program.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have scored Silver level on Work Keys pre-employment tests or a passing score on the Arkansas Eastman pre-employment tests
- Strong in initiative and follow through
- Self-directed to complete tasks without direct supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be physically able to fully perform the lifting, carrying, walking, and standing requirements that are essential elements of the job.
