About The Position
Key Responsibilities
- Install and assemble instrumentation equipment, including valves, sensors, gauges, and transmitters.
- A basic understanding of cutting, bending and routing of tubing of different materials (copper, stainless steel, tygon, etc.) and the proper fittings.
- Should have a basic knowledge of basic pipe and instrument fittings.
- Ensure proper alignment, fit, and secure attachment of components.
- Test and calibrate instruments to ensure optimal performance and compliance with specifications.
- Identify and correct any discrepancies or issues during testing.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on instrumentation systems.
- Repair or replace defective components to restore equipment functionality.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and piping diagrams to determine installation requirements.
- Follow detailed plans and specifications to complete tasks accurately.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards and regulations.
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to coordinate efforts.
- Communicate effectively to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; technical certification in instrumentation or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an Instrument Fitter or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation systems and components.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment proficiently.
- Familiarity with relevant safety standards and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
