Overview
About The Position
The Project Engineering Group includes Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Technologists who work together to contributes to the success of the company by providing engineering support to Manufacturing, Utilities, and Maintenance. The Electrical Engineer will work with others in the plant to:
- Provide technical assistance, process improvement, and manufacturing support for chemical production.
- Develop and prioritize process improvement needs.
- Develop, implement, and support new processes for the site.
- Provide cost estimates to determine feasibility of business development plans.
- Design and plan layout of equipment.
- Provide technical assistance, process improvement, and manufacturing support for Manufacturing, Utilities, and Maintenance Solve electrical engineering problems and distinguishing between the relative merits of different plans and designs.
- Troubleshoot and identify root causes of electrical and instrument problems.
- Provide electrical engineering support for multiple areas of expertise which could include: high voltage power systems, instrumentation, control systems, electrical classification, motor specification, lighting design, and process contro.
- Design measurement and control systems for chemical plants based on data collected in laboratory experiments and in pilot plant operations.
- Work in teams or independently to increase production capacity, improve product yield, provide safer operations, or reduce energy requirements.
- Apply sound process economics analysis principles to determine and document project values.
- Evaluate and specify new electrical equipment and instrumentation.
- Maintain awareness and ties to corporate technology and engineering resources to help implement projects.
- Assist with definition and implementation of capital projects that will result in process improvements or increased capacity.
- Manage several projects simultaneously and regularly communicates progress to stakeholders.
- Follow safety and quality procedures.
- Communicate with employees in any role group, as well as outside customers.
Key Qualifications
- Candidates must have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school,
- The preferred candidate would have at least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility,
- Strong verbal and written communication skills,
- Highly motivated and self-directed,
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to successfully work with people from all levels and areas of the company,
- Creative problem-solving skills,
- The desire to learn and lead,
- Legally allowed to work in the US without restriction
