FutureFuel Chemical Company, formerly Eastman Chemical Company in Batesville, Arkansas, is looking for a new member for our Engineering Team. Candidates must have a BS or MS in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school and over 5 years experience in a chemical manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate would have direct experience with project or process engineering support for batch or continuous chemical production.

Responsibilities:

  1. Works to provide technical assistance, process improvement, and manufacturing support for chemical production.
  2. Works to develop and prioritize process improvement needs
  3. Works to develop, implement, and support new processes for the site
  4. Troubleshoots and identifies root causes of operational problems; data analysis
  5. Serves as project coordinator for new process implementation
  6. Provides cost estimates to determine feasibility of business development plans
  7. Determines most effective arrangement of operations such as mixing, crushing, heat transfer, distillation, and drying.
  8. Performs tests and monitor performance of processes throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.
  9. Designs and plans layout of equipment.
  10. Designs measurement and control systems for chemical plants based on data collected in laboratory experiments and in pilot plant operations
  11. Works in teams or independently to increase production capacity, improve product yield, provide safer operations, or reduce energy requirements.
  12. Applies sound process economics analysis principles to determine and document project values
  13. Maintains awareness and ties to corporate technology and engineering resources to help implement projects
  14. Assists with definition and implementation of capital projects that will result in process improvements or increased capacity
  15. Manages several projects simultaneously and regularly communicates progress to stakeholders
  16. Follows safety and quality procedures
  17. Able to communicate with employees in any role group, as well as outside customers

Truck Driver/Warehouse Driver Position Available

FutureFuel Chemical Company is looking for part-time and full-time truck drivers for the Legacy Regional Transport team. Candidates must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a minimum of an “N” endorsement, preferably an “X” endorsement. High school diploma or GED, excellent driving record, and flawless background and drug test are also required. This position will work at the FutureFuel site in Batesville, Arkansas.

The Legacy Regional Transport trucking team members may work in a variety of roles. The trucking team handles deliveries of FutureFuel biodiesel throughout the state and into Tennessee and other surrounding states. Up to two trips a day to Memphis or Little Rock are customary or daily support of FutureFuel fuel tanks in Arkansas. Most positions allow for day-only assignments allowing you to be home each night. Pay is by the load, mile, or hourly depending on the task.

Another role is a rotating 12-hour shift position to support Chemical Operations. Responsibilities include moving isotainers and trailers around the plant for loading/unloading, occasional deliveries to an off-site warehouse, managing in-plant dumpsters, assisting with biodiesel loading for customers, assisting with warehouse duties when needed (forklift, lull, etc.), being flexible to move from job to job as priorities change, assisting operations with tasks as needed, and other responsibilities as assigned. The rotating shift position is a 48/36 schedule requiring two weekends on per month and two having two weekends off per month.

Salary: $17.00 to $19.29 /hour or by the load or mile, depending on the task.

 

FutureFuel Chemical Company is looking for chemical operators to join our Operations team.  Job tasks include, but are not limited to, adding chemicals to processes, keeping production records and ensuring safe, efficient operations of processing equipment.  Chemical operators work a rotating shift schedule and are required to complete an in-house training program consisting of on-the-job training, self-teach courses, as well as classroom training.  

Candidates will need to successfully complete the Arkansas Career Ready Certification (CRC) pre-employment testing administered through the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services.  We require Silver or Gold level certification.  Information regarding testing can be found on Page 2 of our employment application.  Candidates must have basic computer skills, the ability to follow written instructions/procedures, pay attention to detail , and be strong in initiative and self-direction.

Salary: Beginning rate is $15.51.  Top out rate will be $20.85/hr with the opportunity to progress to $22.98/Hr based on additional training

Required Education:  High school or equivalent

Key Responsibilities:

Follows operating procedures for the production of chemical products.

Operates chemical processing equipment such as dryers, distillation systems, weight tanks, pumps and centrifuges by following specific procedures.

Maintains accurate records of process steps regarding chemicals used, weights, and quality of product.

Obtains product samples for analytical and quality testing.

Packages product in drums, railcar or bulk bags.

Correctly weighs, labels and palletizes product.

Takes action to ensure mechanical problems are addressed and assists maintenance personnel when needed.

Follows all safety policies and practices.
